The Goat Family is a flock of singers and strummers from San Francisco. The band grew out of a group of experimental filmmakers looking to let loose with raucous noise and original tunes. Their set leans heavily on the bars of The Carter Family, The Louvin Brothers, Jesus Christ Superstar, and the Pogues. Originally formed as a jug band, the Goats have expanded to a sound that leans forward into the beat, just shy of the moshpit.
